Fantasy will put you in bondage

We find ourselves behind a screen- whether it be a TV or a phone, and there in lies the premise of disassociating what is real and what is fantasy…

In real life, we want marriages and partners who are loyal to us and have eyes only for us. Yet, a sex scene pops up on a movie and you don’t switch it because “its just entertainment” and “it’s not real…”

In real life, we want meaningful, deep friendships with kind, thoughtful people. Yet when we read a rude comment on social media, we instantly jump into “clap back mode” and say something usually witty, with a sharp tongue. But no big deal…”that’s just a social media troll” so practicing love doesn’t count, because, well…”it’s not real…”

In real life, we want our children to grow to be Kingdom shaking warriors for Jesus, who follow His commands and live according to His Word- He commands us to run from all pagan practices…Yet, we sit our children down in front of the television, as they watch a tv character (Elmo and others) cast spells in a “cute kid-like way”. But no big deal, it’s not “reeeal magic…”

Do you see the contradictions? The world has done a really good job of teaching us to separate “fantasy” from “reality”. It’s a slippery slope, to start down…Our society is SATURATED with it. From acting careers where people have “tv wives” and “tv husbands”-Hollywood has done a good job of making you falsely believe that you can live in fantasy and successfully walk out your real life.

Take social media for instance, so many people work tirelessly to present these little squares of “perfection”, when in actuality, there home is in complete dissension and confusion.

The world has made it so accessible and OK to escape reality and live out a fantasy version of your life. It causes you to believe that things like movies, tv shows and music have no effect on you, because, well…it’s just “entertainment”.

They are wrong. It’s not possible. Don’t fall for that trap from the enemy…don’t give him that foothold of fantasy.

The repercussions of fantasy will be devastating in your family and your marriage. Guard your household from it.

Be vigilant with what you let into your ear gates and eye gates…be on guard as the Lord calls us to be. “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
