Seek peace…

In a world where everyone wants to shout the loudest, be heard, be right and make noise…be the person that brings PEACE. Peace doesn’t just “happen”. We need to seek it.

In my daily life as a wife and mother, seeking peace may look like holding my tongue, when I really want to snap back at my husband with a smart remark in the midst of a disagreement. Seeking peace might look like prioritizing my time in His Word and in prayer before any of my children wake up, so that He can correct my posture as a Mother, to be as patient and loving as I can be that day. Seeking peace may be picking up the dirty clothes from the floor without announcing it to the entire family while huffing and puffing. Seeking peace might look like choosing to JOYFULLY serve dinner to my family, even when I am exhausted and might feel taken for granted at the end of a long day.

You get the point…peace has to be sought out.

An atmosphere of peace does not just happen to fill your house, you have to seek ways to cultivate that, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, you will.

That is the desire of my heart- that my children and husband, and anyone who steps foot in our home, can feel the peace and the presence of the Holy Spirit in an undeniable way.

Peace through the Holy Spirit, can heal hurts in your marriage. It will draw you closer to your children. It will counter any anxiety that seeks to rear its head. Peace through the Holy Spirit will breed contentment and joy. Seek peace and pursue it. It’s worth it.

1 Peter 3:10-11

For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

Psalm 34:14

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Hebrews 12:14

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

When your role as Wife and Mother feels heavy and starts to make you anxious…

…but you remember that He promises you PEACE.

John 14:27
